Funk-e, and not the good kind

Kind of in a funk today. Ironic, i think, since the kiddos are on a school vacation and we technically could be out doing something amazing like hiking up to a waterfall if it didn't take a superhuman effort to be able to imagine enjoying any kind of outing with all 5 by myself. Instead, we've spent the vacation holed up in the house, only to discover last afternoon how beautiful it was outside. I guess my mind got stuck in the nasty weather last weekend and I thought we were doomed until spring. And to top it off, they closed the Alpine Slide last weekend, just in time for me to decide that we were heading up after lunch today. Well, here's a picture or two to cheer you up. (if i pretend it's you that's in a funk and needs cheering, it doesn't seem so daunting)

Doesn't he look so grown up in the stripes and the blue jeans?

wait for it...

and the moment is over. time to go find yet another spit rag.

btw, is no one going skating or are you all just commitment-phobes like me?

Ummmm....I haven't committed because we've got full-blown chicken pox here. ugh. I called the doctor yesterday and they said that I can go out....just not any of the kids. So far it's just hit Asher but the others haven't been vaccinated (I actually can't remember if Ella has been) and could be carrying it for 2 days before it's recognizable. I'm thinking I'll have to see how sick the house is. OH YEAH...Scott's never had it. It's supposed to hit really hard if you're an adult. We're sort of just waiting....

you can totally bring mae. i usually push my little ones in an umbrella stroller (they turn better) or we have a 3 wheeler scooter if you want to borrow it.

I would totally love to go!!! seriously! it sounds like a ton of fun, haven't been skating since I was a kid. Actually, I did go rollerblading in Indiana and had to use the stoller to support me or else I would have landed flat on my booty.
Unfortunately, I am in small town usa, nowhere near you. I hope you have lots of girls show up and have a fun night!!
