Cutting the Strings

I mentioned that the boys mow the lawn, right?
And that we mulch the (too long) grass.

Sometimes all that extra greenery causes problems.

Now, I'm all about supporting my kids in their time of need, but there comes a time when you have to cut the apron strings, or the weedeater string in our case.

Because there's a lot to be said about learning things on your own, instead of simply following someone else's idea of the "right way" to do things.

Aside from the fact that it's wonderful to see the ingenuity blossom as well as the cooperation between siblings.

Even if one of them seems to be just standing around.

He's probably busy giving advice. Or "supervising," a skill learned from his dad.

I do love a handy man.

My boys ROCK.
