And I'm on a roll.

When I was out thrifting with a friend (the time I got all the sheets for Dot's rag rug) I told her I wasn't allowed to buy anything else until I finished all the projects I bought that trip.

Well, I finished the rug.

And then went thrifting again. I need to be better about taking before pics but I just get so dang excited and jump right in! Anyhow, look what we found...

A delicious bit of velvet and curves. I put it in the cart at the store promising Fred I was going to paint and recover it but I put it in the living room to sort of get a feel for it and Fred likes it as is. It somehow makes the pink couch and red chair not clash as much. We'll see what I end up doing with it in the long run, but can't you just see it painted white with either dark charcoal fabric or a natural burlap or flour sac fabric?

And then... we found lights for above the kitchen island. Talk about a lucky shopping trip! A lady was pushing three identical lights around Restore in her cart so I tapped her on the shoulder and very polite like told her, "If you end up not getting all of those would you let me know?" And she said, "Absolutely, we're only going to get one, maybe two." Hooray! So we brought it home and spray painted it (of course) and while we were at it we spray painted the dining chandelier like I've been threatening to do for a year, and voila!

I LOVE the cages around the light bulbs. For the record, I tried to get a picture from the other direction but the clutter from the golden oak cabinets and the knick knacks on top were too much. But also for the record, I'm even more excited to paint the cabinets white now. Also also for the record, I have no patience so while the lights are all painted and hung in under 3 hours, my house also smells a bit like spray paint.

And if anyone is keeping track, Dot's rug cost a whopping $8, the light was $10 and the chair was $8. This also means I put to use everything I brought home, so now I get to pick up the next thing that catches my eye, right? Right.

Good thing, because I'm super excited about the Star Mill in American Fork.

You've got a great eye! If you ever need a project buddy, I'd love to come help (and learn!)
