Rag rug, check.

I decided a couple weeks ago that I wanted to make Dot a rag rug for her room. Little did I know how much fabric it would end up taking! I think I counted 6 yards of fabric, 3 twin sheets, and 3 queen sheets. Lucky for me, I had the yards in my stash, a neighbor who brought over bags of fabric to pick from, some sheets in the closet that we never use, and only ended up thrifting 3 of the sheets for a whopping total out of pocket cost of $9.
Honestly, it wasn't too hard (i googled basic instructions) once I figured out I was better off crocheting it on the floor instead of my lap. I started out on my lap watching tv but I was adding too many stitches into the curve and it ended up ruffled. Not quite the look I was going for so I pulled the first yellow part out and redid it, flat this time.
The only problem now is that as I was coming down the stairs late one night it occurred to me that a rag rug would look amazing in the front room! You know, bigger. And less pink. And in a few months after I've had time to collect more sheets from the thrift stores.
Little by little, this house is coming together!
