One table I inherited when we bought our first house. A board I scavenged from the back yard, whitewashed and oxidized. A thrifted coffee table and kitchen table. 20 angle brackets, four times that many screws, a belt sander, a skilsaw, a table saw, and a drill.
And by unwitting, I mean that they usually have no idea what I'm saying about them, in which case I have offered this small olive-branch: a pseudonym, as if that somehow will lessen their embarassment when they get old enough to realize I have been offering the world a running commentary on their life.
