Recap. Update. Hope.

Hello world! I finally feel a bit functional again and am back to satisfy your craving for the end of my story.

Me too.

Let's have a little recap before we get started, shall we? Girl sells house in 2weeks, finds dream house next day and makes offer. And then waits. And tells the internets about her wonderful house and all her faith. And waits some more. And don't forget the fact that the house she found was THE house.

The rest of the story? House forecloses, girl waits patiently for bank to put it back on the market and is the first to make yet another offer on the same house only to lose it to a higher bidder. Girl is crushed and spends a week and a half in a funk trying to figure out why she felt so sure of THAT house only to lose it. it was a fun week and a half, just ask girl's husband.

(dear mom. Is it more unsettling to hear your daughter talk about herself in third person or in plural like she did in high school?)

So there it is. I have no house or washer/dryer since we left them for the new owners thinking we would get a fancy new set to go in the fancy new house. And to be honest, It was a hard week. My faith was officially shaken. I even blew off a trip to the temple because the reassurance I had been feeling there for the past three months didn't pan out so why bother. Oh, yeah, I doubted. But I think maybe possibly I might be over it. Or at least past it enough to seriously look for another house to replace THE ONE.

I still have no idea why I had to be so sure of that house if I wasn't going to get it and on top of it all wasn't going to be able to find another I loved as much (or at all). I kinda really wish I had never found it in the first place because now everything else feels like settling. But I have decided to get over it and get back on the road of trusting in the Lord. I'm not super confident anymore, but I would really like to believe that the Lord has something in mind and didn't just need a good laugh.

We are happy in this new apartment. The kids are sleeping well which is saying a lot, the neighbor kids are great, I haven't had an episode since I tried to bare my insane testimony in church, and next Monday we will be back to old reliable Comcast after a disappointing week with the competition. And did I mention I forked over a boatload of cash for an iPad to help my son communicate with us that has turned into a stellar motivating tool for my other children? And the fact that my sewing machines are all in storage so I am on a mandatory sabbatical from my alterations business and am free to do what I please with my summer?

There may not be a house, but there is hope.

Thank goodness for hope. And a tireless real estate agent that puts up with my blatant disapproval of all houses we have seen so far.

Way to keep your hope. Life is what you make it, right? I wish you all the best in your search, and wish you were looking for homes in Oceanside instead of Springvile/Mapleton, but I will keep hoping that someday you will come and stay with us. :)
