Brag Fest May 2010

I'd like to say I've been absent because I've been off doing amazing, fun, exciting things, but I haven't.

Mostly I've been...

bugger. I'm not really sure what I've been doing. I've been working a bit, but only like 12 hours a week. And I've been making a few pendants and keepsakes but not that many.

And I've been sewing a little too, but really, not that much.

I guess it must be all that time I spend glittering my toenails or something.

I will tell you what we built today, though. Two benches. From scratch. With lovely power tools. Have I mentioned I love power tools? I'm slightly more than a little proud of what we accomplished. And when I say we, I actually mean we this time, not just the we that takes the attention off me. Me and Fred we.

The funny thing is, it's not necessarily the benches that I'm so proud of. It's how we got there. We (and by we I mean me) are notorious for not working well together. I'm too bossy and impatient and just like to do things myself because they get done faster and my way, which doesn't lend itself to working together very often, but as I sat on the bench weighting the board down so Fred could nail it to the legs, I realized...

I really had fun working with Fred. I mean WITH him. We usually get things done by working beside each other, each of us with our own piece of the project (I mow, he weed-eats) because he's a supervisor and I'm a quit-screwing-around-and-get-it-done-er.

But today, today was further proof in the 12 some-odd years that we've been a team that we make a stellar team. You know, when I let us.
