Early Morning Nonsense.

So. Lovely Dot wakes me up at like, well I was going to say 6:30 but I just looked at the clock and it's 6:30 now and I've been awake at least an hour so it had to be more like 5:30 if not earlier because I was super grouchy when she woke me up crying in my ear because she had forgotten her pillow upstairs and now she wanted it but I wouldn't let her go back up cuz she'd wake up Ed so she screamed for a while until I just went and got it for her even though she was throwing a fit because sometimes I'd rather be asleep than right. And by sometimes, I mean the crack of stinking dawn on a Sunday.

So I got her pillow for her and then laid there twiddling my toes waiting for my mind to shut up and let me sleep but now that it's 6:30 I might as well just get out of bed and type up all this stuff running through my head so maybe it will quit stalking me.

So.

I went to the SummerSocialRetreat09 on Friday. It was supposed to be just for pro bloggers who had twitter accounts (probably to ensure that we helped spread the buzz about all their sweet sponsors) but I justified to myself while I registered that if they mean pro like I'm really good at it, then since I've been blogging for two years and no one has kicked me off, then sure, I'm a pro. But if by pro they mean non-amateur like when the amateur ice skaters can be in the olympics but once you're pro and get paid you can't any more, then i'm so not a pro cuz i definitely don't get paid to blog. (Dear wealthy blog stalking philanthropist: just because i refuse to put up google ads doesn't mean i wouldn't take your money. call me. we'll talk) Lucky for me they weren't checking references and I slipped in unnoticed with all the other super talented and creative/crafty girls.

Have you ever been up to Soldier Hollow? Me neither. Apparently they have a rocking sledding hill in the winter. And cross-country skiing trails that they used for the Olympics that I may have to come try this winter. You know, when I'm not holed up in my house in front of the pretend fire wishing there wasn't so much snow outside.

But let me tell you, the coybows at Rocky Mountain Outfitters (they took us horseback riding) are hilarious. We passed a couple on our way in that were waiting for the train so they could hold it up (you know, outlaws, hold-up) with bandanas over their faces sitting on their horses in the middle of the road just shooting the breeze... Only next time i think i'm going to ask for the padded saddle cuz it just plain hurts to sit today.

So after we went horseback riding we headed in for dinner and apparently the food sponsor had flaked out at the last minute (which made me glad i wasn't in charge) but they ended up getting some new sponsors (Shirley J's and Western Community Bank.... WCB paid and SJ cooked) right at the end and really... i'm glad for that too cuz the beef they whipped up was delicious. And I guess ShirleyJ's have this sauce mix that's not really a sauce mix because it's more of a super cooking base miracle that i can't wait to try because i'm so not good at cooking but i think that i may just be able to pull something edible off with the base. I hope. I'll let you know.

OH, and btw, I met Motherboard. And she said she read my blog once. But I'm pretty sure it was just the one time when they were revamping over at Mormon Mommy Blogs and had to go through all 18 bajillion blogs listed on their site and check to make sure we were sporting their button so she like, HAD to come see cuz they made her and not cuz she heard I was worth reading or anything like that. I liked her. She was funny. And she told me how to leave comments on her site cuz i'm a dork and can't figure it out on my own.

So then April gets up and tells us about her Expecting Miracles jar that she has at home that is full of pieces of paper they wrote things they wanted to happen on and stuck them in the jar and 85% of the miracles they wrote down actually happened so we were supposed to write a miracle that we wanted to have happen on a paper and put it in the jar and they would draw for prizes out of it. Silly me, I didn't realize they were going to read them out loud to everyone so my thought train went something like this... "Well, if we're talking miracles, I'd really love some bigger boobs and that would TOTALLY be a miracle if that ever happened" so I wrote it down and stuffed it in the jar.

And then she pulls out the jar and starts reading them out loud to the whole room and I wished I could take mine back. Cuz I rock at doing socially awkward things like wishing for bigger boobs in public and then regretting I mentioned it. But then they started bringing out the swag and I'd get distracted with the awesome stuff they were throwing around until April would reach back in the jar to pick another winner and I'd wish all over again that I could take mine back so she wouldn't have to read it to the room.

My favorite was the stuff from M2 Skin Care. Their whole facial line. I know, I totally could have grabbed that and ran but thought I'd stick around and see what else they had before they kicked me out for only pretending to be a pro blogger.

and the Badger Balm that tastes like tangerine and is good on your lips AND your heels.

and the cupcakes from The Chocolate.

and the essential oils from doTerra (hello shelly, lavendar lemonade).

and the body butter from NuSkin. Cuz we all know my heels need a little loving so they don't tear through the heels of my panty hose. Not that I'd wear panty hose unless I was dying, dear motherboard, but still. (note to fred: please don't make me wear panty hose when i die. thank you)

and did I mention I actually won something? Yes, as in had my paper picked from the jar and my miraculous wish for bigger boobs read out loud to the rest of the room who were busy wishing for stuff like whirled peas and a chance to document the dissapearance of handmade arts in greece. Except I was so distracted by my anxiety that I'm really not sure what I won. But it's from Yes to Carrots who has some tasty lip balms so it should be good when the UPS man brings it to me, whatever it is.

Anyways, the retreat was awesome. I may just try and go back in January and hang out with all the talented girls again unless they catch on to my game and decide not to send me an invitation.

But if you'll excuse me for now, it's now 5 minutes to 8 and I have church in an hour so I better get in the shower so the girls at church can't use the smell wafting off me as an excuse not to sit by me in class.

I totally need to know if the miracle jar works because I would wish my boobs just to go back to where they used to live on my chest instead of under my armpits and halfway to my knees where they live right now.

You put the lip balm on your heels? That is sheer brilliance! I'm doing that right now!

It was delightful to meet you! The food was great but the company better!
