Borderline, finished?

I'm borderline psychotic/neurotic for a number of reasons. We'll discuss those other reasons some other time.

Today the most glaring reason is the fact that I am about to head out into a snowstorm with three children, including one who can't walk on their own and one who won't, for the fifth trip to the store in four days... for piping.

Piping.

Piping that I was supposed to pick up last night along with the baby cereal and the tampons. Piping that I need to finish Eddie's stocking so Santa can leave him a little plastic maraca found whilst picking up a _____ for Art.

Each and every trip has been "the last one" that will pick up all the straggling items I need to put the Holidays in order and each trip has seen me pull into my driveway remembering the one more item that now needs to go on the list for the next shopping trip.

I have like 5 lists in various places around the house in the hopes that I will get everything written down and subsequently remembered while I am at the store (provided I remember to bring the lists with me, note to self).

Well, here's to one last trip. May it be fruitful and inexpensive and FINAL.

(you don't have 3 feet of 1/4 inch piping just laying around needing purpose in life, do you? I'd be ever so grateful)

Okay, seriously you must have seen into my house because that is EXACTLY what I have been doing the past several days. Exactly.

And I'm cursing the cold weather and slow-to-be-buckled-or-unbuckled-children every step of the way.

So anyway. Amen.

I am realizing a few last minute things that I need to do and the kids only have one day left of school! What will I do with them once they are home?

I went out into said snowstorm yesterday, too. By myself, though. :)

Then last night we went to dinner and then the toy store -to get ideas, if you can believe that... neither child has said anything they want, really... and I had put some things in the cart covered with our jackets, and asked Eric about something else.
"Should we get this?"
"Couldn't we just come back later?"
I looked at him like he was crazy, to be sure. Or an idiot.
"Uh.... it's Thursday.... tomorrow is Friday, then the weekend (and the last one before Christmas), and Christmas in a few days?... NO!, we can't come back later."
Sheesh! You can tell the spoiled boy has someone do all his holiday shopping for him!
hmmph. Including presents for his wife!!

The same "back and forth to the store" disease is in my house too...made all the harder by somewhat bah humbug husband and being an AZ girl not liking to drive in the snow and ice and not wanting to go out in the cold, plus kindergarten only lasts so long.
