Give-e Get-e

As we are striving for homemade this Christmas, I thought I would start off the season with a give-e. Cuz everyone likes a get-e, right? We also like to recycle and are doing our share of it, starting with these enchanting mood lights.

Yes, I know they look like baby food jars and baling wire, but work with me here. Scatter them around a tree and light the tea-light and WAM, instant mood lighting, a-la NieNie.

I'm sorry they don't come with the warm Arizona weather.
.
I wish I could bottle the warmth up with the tealights, but for now we'll just have to settle with the mood lighting. And you know the drill, if you wanna get-e, leave a comment. Don't worry about linking because we're not out for fame, just philanthropy. We'll pick names from a hat or some other appropriate receptacle when we get around to it. Ok, so we'll pick on Thursday because I have big hopes and plans to be driving to AZ on Friday and not coming back until after Thanksgiving.
.
Oh, and Stephanie, this idea is for you. We have these in the works for the boys' cousins...

No, I'm not kidding. Yes, we're giving old books for Christmas. They're in disguise. Because even though I do like to sit and read the stories every now and then, what boy doesn't need a place to hide things?
(Hint, drill 1/4" holes 1" from the corners and then cut the hole out with scissors. All the other ways that people will tell you to do it really hurt your hands)

Thank you, I'll be here all week.

I love the mood lighting idea ~ count me in!!! So with the books, do you glue all the pages together, or are they loose leaf still? That is way cool!!!

I saw those lights on Nie-Nie. It is such a great idea. And the boys would totally love the books! If I don't win one (pick me! pick me!) then I will have to try and do it myself.
You are awesome, always have great ideas, borrowed or not.

Yes, Ashley, you glue the inside edges of the book hole together, just smear it around with your finger kinda thick. Makes it stiff enough to hold the treasures in.

me me me! Although, I don't have a tree big enough to hold the lights yet.

What a cute idea! Even though I am not a "sister", count me in on the drawing! Please! I really like the book idea also. Cute!

Ooo, pick me! I love your craftiness! (despite the comment I made that awful day of my sister's wedding shower that I will forever count as one of my most embarrassing moments...and if you don't know what I'm referring to, then let's leave it that way!) Truly love you, hon. xoxo

I did see this the other day, but I wasn't certain you were talking to Me!, and I didn't want to be presumptuous! But then when you left me a comment, I knew. :)

I like this idea very much.

I'm trying to think of a way to link (with pics) all these ideas together. If I figure it out, maybe I'll come begging permission to use your photo, which will link directly to your blog. We'll see....

I'm a friend of Christy's-- she told me about this giveaway and then told me not to comment, so I'm left in a pickle...

But really, that book is AWESOME. My red-headed son would think it totally sweet! (yay for red-headed boys!!)

And I'm having a giveaway on my blog too, so if you wanted to you could enter, and then we'd be even.
