Note to Self

If you want your pictures to turn out, make sure you clean the lens after the kiddos use it and leave it outside in the woodchips.

Oh, you're there, are you? Wanting to find out how the skating party went? All you out-of-towners want to live vicariously through us? I'll give you the rundown.

Show up promptly 10 minutes late. Pleased that the floor is sparsely populated despite the elementary school that apparently scheduled their party for the same night. Who made our arrangements anyway? I'd like to lodge a complaint.

Re-accustom self to wheeled movement. Get a few laps in before tutu arrives.

Put on said tutu to keep cheerleader skirt company.

Gape as Ms Shorty McHotpants shows up with teenybopper friends, who were secure enough in their good looks to cover up atleast a little skin between hoohas and neon knee high socks. Won't post picture because this is a family site and we don't need any creepies, or should I, in case her mom is reading and doesn't know how daughter attired herself?

Give silent dirty looks to creepy old guy skating around aimlessly watching little kiddies.

Exonerate not-so-creepy old guy when you see he's wearing an establishment shirt. Apparently he's playing roadblock so no one runs over downed kiddos, atleast until they get back on their wheels.

Creep out 9yo boy by grabbing him by the waist instead of pulling him down with you when he darts across your space.

Admire coordinated roll neighbor makes as she hits floor. Feel bad as she shows hurt knee. (sorry!)

Laugh at deejay when you see he has a rattail. In the digital age. Remember your own junior high rattail that was accompanied by super short bob and frizzy perm. Thank the heavens that you have a friend who would tell you to cut it off and grow it out.

Wish they would play more disco and less Thriller.

Tickle MaeMae as she glares at you for not bringing Dottie to girls night. What was I thinking?

Decide you're done tripping over kiddos, who now populate the floor over the fire chief standards of safe occupancy.

Read friend's text from stalker. Decide stalker needs to find another girlfriend. An unmarried one.

Head to Target to check out clearance rack, and find a leather jacket for $17. (it's machine washable, how much do you expect me to pay for it, being as I'm cheap and all?)

Get too distracted by lush at Taco Bell to decide what to order.

Make it home and listen to husbands cracks about tutu but decide to share chunky monkey ice cream with him anyway. What can I say? He kept the kids AND put them to bed. I'm in debt.

That was a very enjoyable blog entry. I thought about coming, but it didn't work out for me. Maybe another time.
