Role Models

Pretty pretty Dot. Loves her Dad. Of all the kids, she is the biggest Daddies girl. Daddies kid, to be fair. He puts her down for naps every day because I just can't do it. She just won't go to sleep for me. Maybe I'm just too uptight trying to mentally hurry her to sleep. Or maybe she just loves her dad.

Wants to be just like him. Well, except for the motorcycle riding part... that she wants nothing to do with. But this morning, Dad gave himself a haircut. In the bathroom. With the hair cutting kit spread out on the toilet for easy access (it's the only flat surface we have in the bathroom), That's where I'd put it, too. Dot thinks it's a good place to put it, too.

So while dad is fully engrossed in the haircutting process, making sure to get every (last) hair the same length, Little Miss decided she needed a haircut, too. Did a good job of it. Got every last bang. All I had to do was layer them. Now what more could a mother ask?

Even took a snip off the top for good measure. Oh, well. It's not like I shell out for haircuts around here. You can't knock free help.

Wow, she's gonna be a hairdresser someday. And she can brag to her clientele about how she started cutting her hair when she was just a toddler. What a pretty girl. :)

At least it turned out looking cute. Kaitlin cut hers pretty much to the scalp right in front...not something you can hide. Well maybe with a huge bow right in front. At least you have a good attitude about it all. Sometimes you just have to sit back and laugh at all the things kids do!

I thought something looked a little...off. So cute. Ella did the same at around that age....lobbed off both pigtails just above the ears. Sigh.
